Unsure if we could be seated or be assigned a seat, a local actually gave up his table for us although there’s plenty others around us, so that we could be seated.. He also cleared his table after himself so the table was clean!
🥪 we then ordered 2 pork sandwich with the chef who tried to greet us in Mandarin when he offered the menus - and thought they were pretty unique! The pork was the most tender pork I have eaten, though the skin could have been crispier in my books. It was still very worthwhile though, so much so that I ordered more to be had at 10am!
🍲 the owner then was told we ordered more, and asked if we wanted drinks or soup (he said 汤 in mandarin too), which we politely declined, and he brought us a free bowl and said try the Portuguese soup! Such friendliness from the owner and chef!
📺 while waiting for the second dish to arrive, the ambience was very old school, TV playing in the background, with locals sipping on their coffee and sandwich, just makes for a superbly local experience with friendly warmth treatment..
🐖 the pork and fries dish eventually came, and I could properly savour the goodness of the pork on its own, which I thought was good too!
I properly enjoyed my experience at this establishment, it just made both me and my wife day a great one from the get go, super kudos to the team here for being so friendly despite not speaking the same language 💯- Serviço

Cute little shop/restaurant located in Coimbra. I love roasting suckling pig and try it anytime I get the chance. This was the best roasted pig sandwich at my entire life. Delicious roasted pork and crispy skin on a tasty bread served with a wonderful salty, garlicky, and savory sauce. The gentleman proprietor was so nice and friendly. Beer was just one euro.

Best pork I've ever had. The skin is so crispy and the meat is the most tender I've ever had. Order with a side of fries and salad to help balance the pork and the meal pairs perfectly with the house white wine. The pork comes with a side sauce that is very salty so use it sparingly. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. If you visit coimbra you must eat at this restaurant.

The suckling pig sandwich was incredible, super tender and succulent and amazing value for money at €6.20 for a (very generously filled) sandwich and a glass of red wine. A hidden gem off the main road! We had the Leitao Assada, a huge portion that serves 4 people quite comfortably! The pork was very soft and filled with taste. Definetly stop by.

If you love a simple sandwich that's just delicious meat between two pieces of fresh bread, this is for you. The pork meat is salty and succulent. It's served with drippings to amplify the flavor further, so good. The soup is also rich and flavorful.

Had a drink and a Sandes do leitão (roasted pork) along with a beer. The sandwich came with a pepper-garlic dressing which I just couldn’t have enough of. The guy was very friendly. It’s a small establishment with a bar stool and a few table settings, very local feel!

Very nice place in Coimbra! Recommend 10/10 ! Food is very nice but what really makes the difference is the quality of service. The staff is very friendly !! For lunch of two, we payed 40 euros and got Porto wine tasting offered. Absolutely to see while in Coimbra

Excellent pork sandwiches! My wife and I stopped in for a sandwich and salad, both were just perfect. Pork sandwich was so delicious we had to get another to share, great tasting peppery sauce goes well with it. Nice friendly staff.
Best suckling pork we had during our two week trip in Portugal. It taste better than the other top rated Leito places in Porto and Lisbon. The owner is such a friendly and fun person. It made our dinner really enjoyable. Don’t miss out on this gem when you travel in Combria.

Had lunch here twice. I prefer the 1/2 grilled pork portion more than the sandwich. Service is super nice and friendly even tho the waiter didnt speak much english :)
